Our Academy
Awarded Orange CT's best dance school, The Brennan-Lucey Irish Dance Academy caters to all types of dancers whether it be for fun, exercise or competition. We teach children from ages 3 and up and you truly can start at any age! For toddlers, please inquire about our Intro to Irish Dance class and our Parent and Me classes. Don't forget about our adult classes too; it is never too late to start to jigging! Even if you’re not Irish, it’s an amazing form of dance; its energetic, technical, exciting and great exercise.

The Brennan-Lucey Academy was founded in 2016 when after thousands of performances with Riverdance, countless television appearances, and over 9 years of dancing and teaching side by side, Meghan Lucey-Brelsford and Stephen Brennan became registered TCRG's (teachers) with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha, the worldwide Irish dancing governing body based in Dublin, Ireland. While Stephen has since moved on to the world of architecture Meghan continues to run the school and shares her love of dance and Irish culture with the youth and adults of today. Morgan Brown joined the teaching staff as an assistant teacher in 2021 and the students fell in love with her. Not only is she an exceptional dancer and a wonderful human but with her exercise science degree she is our strength and conditioning coach and provides dancers with healthy, body positive habits and exercises to help make them become the best dancers they can. In 2024 Erin O'Donnell TCRG joined the teaching staff and is delighted to bring her extensive expertise to the dancers of Brennan-Lucey. She is the Director of the Brooklyn Irish Dance Company, a professional Irish Dance company that both Meghan and Morgan have performed with, and loves teaching both competitive and performance aspects to dancers - she fits right into the Brennan-Lucey family and we are so excited to have her on board!

Dancers from the Brennan-Lucey Irish Dance Academy have performed with the New Haven Symphony, danced on WTNH, competed on both local and International competitive stages with dancers qualifying for the World Championships each year! Brennan-Lucey dancers have won the New England Regional Championships and have placed as high as 2nd in the Nation and 4th in the World! We have performed for many charity events and Irish festivals throughout the area. We hope you caught us at one of our events and please consider us for your next gathering! We love to perform for the community, no matter what the occasion!
Our Academy has a zero tolerance for bullying and gossip. It is essential that any issues or concerns about your child's dance journey be brought solely to the attention of the director. Any discussions of concerns involving your dancer (or other dancers) to other dance parents rather than our director is considered gossip and grounds for dismissal. We strive to be a supportive, safe place for all dancers (and parents) to go on their dance journey at their own speeds.
